A new update on my assignments...

Just finished the rig for my zombie character, Hatchet. It's not yet textured, but I had to turn this in as my final assignment for my Intro to Rigging Class.

9/12/09 - Simple Character Rig

For this week's rigging assignment, we were told to design and build a simple, pleasing character using basic primitives (for the most part). We then make a basic skeleton using joints, and parent the individual primitive pieces to the joints, so that we can pose out our character in 3 different poses that show emotion.

Behold!

I wanted him to basically be a little kid's mentality trapped in a bulky robot's body. Can't decide what to name him, any suggestions?

Rube Goldberg Device

For Rigging last week, we had to design, build a rig a functioning Rube Goldberg Device. For those who don't know, a Rube Goldberg Device is an unnecessarily long machine to perform a simple task (think mouse trap). Sorry for the quality, but we had to turn in a playblast, not a fully rendered movie.

Intro

Just to introduce the blog a little bit, I started this to keep track of all my work that may or may not fit directly onto my portfolio. I'll be putting everything from school assignments to photoshop sketches on here. And now, to kick it off!
